The Arts

Sharing the gift of God through Arts

Here at Parklands, the arts offer us an opportunity to experience such a depth of creativity and beauty that we can feel overwhelmed in the moment. The arts give us a glimpse into the creative heart of God.

All of this world was fashioned by God's hand and resounds with God's goodness and love. We are told in the Psalms that:

The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. Psalm 19:1-4

The arts are as old as humanity. They are part of every culture and central to the diverse and continuing cultures of First Nations Australians. Through the arts, people share stories, ideas, knowledge and understanding. .

The arts engage our senses and give us ways to imagine, celebrate, communicate and challenge ways of knowing, being, doing and becoming

We may not all be professional artists, but we play a part in sharing the gifts that God has given us to make this world a better place. We may not have the same skills and talents of our fellow students, but we are called to be good stewards of all that we have received.

Ultimately, here at Parklands the Arts offer us a unique window to see God, our fellow students and ourselves as we become creative, confident, compassionate and resilient individuals as we embrace all that The Arts has to offer.
