Youth Development Program

Grounded and Self Driven

The Youth Development Program (YDP) is a specialised pathway.

The program is designed to support students in Years 5-12 who demonstrate commitment, potential and a desire to grow across their sport, faith, leadership and academic journey.

This program extends beyond regular sport, providing structured training, performance education and character development opportunities that equip students to pursue excellence with discipline and purpose.

Through targeted physical preparation, skill refinement and leadership development, students are challenged to better understand their strengths, set meaningful goals and take ownership of their progress.

Grounded in our Christian ethos, the Youth Development Program seeks to develop not only capable athletes, but resilient, respectful and self driven young people prepared to lead and serve in every environment.

Weekly Structure

The Youth Development Program operates across four focused sessions each week, designed to develop the whole student across performance, leadership and character.

Team Sport Focus Sessions

These sessions are aligned with upcoming Christian Schools gala day sports. Students refine sport specific skills, improve tactical understanding and develop cohesion within team structures to ensure they are well prepared for competition. Emphasis is placed on technical development, decision making and applying skills effectively in game scenarios.

Strength & Conditioning Sessions

These sessions are centred on long term athletic development, establishing strong physical foundations that support sustained performance.

Students develop strength, speed, coordination and movement quality while improving physical literacy. Injury prevention principles and progressive performance enhancement strategies are intentionally embedded within each phase of training.

Carnival Focused Sessions

These sessions prepare students for major College carnivals such as Cross Country and Athletics through targeted, event-specific training.

Students develop race strategy and pacing for distance events, while also refining sprint technique, starts, relays, jumps and throws. Emphasis is placed on technical execution and competitive readiness.

Students also have access to the Rackley Swim Squad to further support their swimming development and performance.

Faith-Leadership Sessions

These sessions focus on developing the character that underpins performance and leadership.

Through guided discussion grounded in Biblical principles, students engage in reflection, application-based tasks and practical leadership challenges designed to strengthen personal responsibility, self-awareness and growth across sport, academics and life.

Program Opportunities

Beyond weekly sessions, Youth Development Program students access a range of additional opportunities that enhance their development.

These include excursions, guest speakers and specialist coaches, structured programming with wellness monitoring, recovery tools such as recovery boots, and focused holiday camps.

YDP uniforms build identity and unity, creating a high-quality environment that supports growth across sport, faith, leadership and academics.
