At Parklands Christian College we recognise that there are distinct differences in the needs of students in early adolescence and in the curriculum that best suit their needs.
Our day commences at 8:30am and concludes at 3:20pm. The Secondary College have two 30 minute lunch breaks.
Because adolescence is a distinct developmental phase, it requires a unique response. We have designed a stimulating and varied curriculum to assisting students to become all that God wants them to be.
To ensure that all students have the opportunity to reach their full potential, and make informed decisions about senior subject selection, the Parklands Christian College Middle School Curriculum utilises numerous key learning areas in an attempt to give students a range of experiences rather than a narrow and tradition elective subject approach.
Our subject offerings are as follows;
English (vertically streamed ability groups)
Maths (vertically streamed ability groups)
Geography / History
Health & Physical Education
Christian Life Skills
The Middle School Curriculum is an integrated curriculum, jointly planned by all Middle School Team Members. Thus learning is meaningful and connected rather than fragmented and teachers are always aware of what is happening with students in all Middle School classes. In Middle School the programme can be divided into three main phases;
transition to Middle School in Year 7,
consolidation in Year 8 and,
moving toward independence in Year 9
