Year 9
Year 9 is designed as a beginning step into the secondary school journey.
Students make their first selections of elective subjects and begin their personal journey towards an individual learning pathway. A key part of Year 9 is the Rite Journey program: a year-long development opportunity for students to
evaluate their personal identity, explore a more mature Christian perspective regarding many life
topics, and pursue the gifts and talents that God have created them with.

Bornhoffen and Somerset Dam
Year 9 camps occurs in Term 1 and Term 3
- Term 1 at PCYC Bornhoffen

Year 9: The Rite Journey
Daily Connection
All students participate in The Rite Journey: a program designed for students to discover more of
who they are, and who God has designed them to be. The program is a challenging endeavour in
which students will be encouraged to put aside elements of their childhood and start to embrace the
more mature journey that lies ahead of them.
The program is a partnership requiring parent involvement, mentor connections and school support.

Year 9 Beyond the Classroom
Experiences of Middle School
Year 9 students participate in a wide variety of experiences designed to support their development as students. Experiences such as excursions and incursions support in class learning, while extra-curricular activities look to invest in further character development for each student.
Students participate in weekly chapel services designed to grow their personal faith journey. Students are also supported by our Student Wellbeing Program.
